San Diego Announces More Sobriety Checkpoints During New Year’s Weekend

The following San Diego DUI checkpoints and saturation patrols have been published by californiaavoid.org:

• Poway: 12/30, DUI Saturation Patrol, 8:00pm – 3:00am.
• Carlsbad: 12/30, DUI Checkpoint, 7:00pm – 3:00am.
• Coronado: 12/31, DUI Checkpoint, 7:00pm – 3:00am.
• La Mesa: 12/31, DUI Saturation Patrol, 8:00pm-3:00am.
• Poway: 12/31, DUI Saturation Patrol, 8:00pm – 3:00am.
• Lemon Grove: 1/1, DUI Checkpoint, 7:00pm – 3:00am.
• Chula Vista: 1/1, DUI Checkpoint, 7:00pm – 3:00am.
• Poway: 1/1, DUI Saturation Patrol, 8:00pm – 3:00am.

In order for these checkpoints to be deemed constitutional, they must meet the criteria outlined in Ingersoll v. Palmer.
